Chandrapur: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers and villagers on Wednesday vandalized the office of GRN Construction Ltd, a company operating under the Bhatali mines of WCL, Chandrapur area, to protest the apathy of the company management towards providing employment to local youths.
MNS leader Mandeep Rode led a group of party workers and damaged vehicles, JCB machine and smashed CCTV cameras in the company’s office. He charged that villagers living around the mine were deprived of jobs in the company despite facing hardship following the pandemic, while GRN was deploying people from other states on its work.
Rode had voiced the demand of deployment of local youths in the company time and again and had staged agitations for the cause in the past. He had even urged collector to look into the matter.
Durgapur police have registered case following a complaint lodged by the company officials.
