A senior-most company official of a Bengaluru-based company was booked for lockdown violations, along with his three friends. The incident occurred on May 10 at Mafatlal Junction on NS Road when police stopped a car. The motorist sped away after challenging the officer.

The accused and three friends were booked under relevant sections of the IPC.

An officer said that the accused was asked to alight from the vehicle after parking it, to show the vehicle document and ask the reason for stepping out in the lockdown, but he sped away instead, mumbling that police can do whatever they want. Police said that the motorist was called to the police station, but he refused to appear. Police will issue summons to the motorist after lockdown to initiate action.

Three booked for murder bid

Three men have been booked for attempt to murder after they beat up and seriously injured a 26-year-old man in Shanti Nagar in Trombay.

According to police, the incident occurred on May 14 at around 8pm, near Maharashtra Nagar in Mankhurd, when the complainant tried to stop a fight between his tenant’s son and the accused, following which the latter held a grudge and planned to assault the man. The accused thrashed the complainant with bamboo sticks severely injuring him. Police are investigating the matter and are yet to make any arrests.
