In a bizarre incident amid the COVID-19 vaccination drive, a nurse in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district gave two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine to a woman at a government centre as the nurse was busy on a phone call.
The incident occurred on Saturday at a primary health centre (PHC) in Akbarpur area of the district. When woman inquired the nurse about the two injections, she reprimanded her instead of apologising, news agency PTI reported.
As per a India Today report, on Saturday (April 3), Kamlesh Kumari, a woman in her 50s, had gone to a local government health centre to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
As per protocol, she should have been administered one dose of the vaccine today and the next dose after a few weeks, depending on the vaccine she was given.
But due to the alleged negligence of the nurse attending Kamlesh Kumari, she ended up getting two doses of the vaccine on the same day.
