NAGPUR: City’s top bookie Rajesh Ballare was arrested by special squad of Zonal DCP Vinita S with Rs five lakh cash and a car from Manavsevanagar in Surendragarh on Monday. This is one of the biggest cash seizure from a bookie during police action in city so far.
Ballare, arrested five times earlier in the past, was also operating a ‘Satta’ gambling den. Asst PI Dilip Chandan, who had led the raid, said Ballare was operating cricket book and also gambling simultaneously on his cellphone when caught red-handed following a tip-off.
Chandan was accompanied by head conatables Aditya Yadav, Rajesh Sonwane, naik constable Amitkumar Singh, constables Parag Fegde, Allen Khan and Kalyan Parate during the action.
The zonal DCP squad also busted a satta den of Rupesh Parsodkar and his brother Ashish who were also linked to Bellare.
